In the last weeks we visited two Carinthian breweries for our project BeSoGreat, which is co-funded by the European Union. There we learned first hand about their Brewer’s Spent Grain (BSG) management. Stakeholder engagement is an important part of our project, in which we are developing a circular business model for BSG and using it as a raw material for biocomposites. Subsequently, 3D printing and injection molding will be used to manufacture products from this biocomposite.
We are grateful to Alois Planner (Biermanufaktur Loncium) and Raimund Linzer (Privatbrauerei Hirt) for providing insight into their breweries and fruitful discussions on potential products we could manufacture for the breweries.
