On April 11th, 2025, a significant meeting took place in Padua between the delegation of the BeSoGreat project – represented by COMET (Cluster of Metalworking of Friuli Venezia Giulia) and Crossing Srl – and representatives from the SMACT Competence Center of Northeast Italy and the Fondazione San Nicolò. The event was held as part of the “From Farm to Fork” Live Demo, hosted at the city’s experimental brewery.
The main objective of the meeting was to share updates and future perspectives on BSG-BC, an innovative material developed through the recovery of spent beer grains. This sustainable and high-potential material is currently being explored by project partners for possible applications in 3D printing and injection molding.
The event represented a valuable opportunity for exchange and dialogue, paving the way for potential future collaborations. The day concluded with a guided tour of the microbrewery and its pilot plant, made possible thanks to the warm hospitality and commitment of the hosting team. Special thanks go to the teams from SMACT and Fondazione San Nicolò – in particular Marco Pesce, Raffaele Catoni, Stefano Bisogno, and Alessandro De Checchi – for their availability and professionalism in showcasing the production process and introducing the BeSoGreat delegation to the microbrewery.
