On 28 October 2025, the BeSoGreat project was presented during the “Rethinking Packaging: A Fresh Look on the Plastics Sector and Advanced Materials for Circular Business Models” conference, held in Zadar (Croatia) within the Interreg Central Europe project Smart Circuit (https://www.interreg-central.eu/projects/smart-circuit/).
The event gathered clusters, research organisations, SMEs, and policy experts from Central and Eastern Europe to exchange views on innovation, sustainability and circular business models in the plastics and packaging sectors.
BeSoGreat was featured in the session “From Challenge to Success: Innovative Projects in Circular Plastics and Advanced Materials” highlighting the project’s cross-border approach to transforming brewing residues into bio-based, compostable materials. The presentation illustrated how collaboration between research and industry supports the development of new circular value chains between Italy and Austria, bridging bioeconomy and advanced manufacturing.
Participation in the conference offered an opportunity to connect partners from Central Europe who, within the Smart Circuit project, are working together to enhance the manufacturing ecosystem towards a digitally enabled and competitive future, reinforcing BeSoGreat’s contribution to the transition towards sustainable materials and production models.
The discussion confirmed the growing relevance of projects like BeSoGreat in supporting the European plastics industry’s green transformation, demonstrating how regional cooperation can deliver tangible results for sustainability and competitiveness.
